The Cheyenne and Arapaho Community Health Representative (CHR) program works as an advocate and facilitator for individuals and families to gain access to comprehensive healthcare services. The goal is to provide members of the Tribes, and members of other federally recognized tribes within our service area, with a variety of health education, case finding, and referral services, as well as follow up service and staff support.

The CHR is often the first link for the patient to gain access to the health care system. The CHR serves as advocate and facilitator for families and individuals to obtain health care and also provide support service designed to enhance the quality of life for the people we serve.

The CHR Program provides home visits, transportation, and medication delivery. All services must be requested through the CHR program. In addition, the CHR Program hosts Community Health screenings, Health fairs, School screenings, Community walks, and Legislative community meetings/screenings. Other health projects include screening for blood pressure, blood glucose levels, and height and weight indexing.

Seven CHR staff members are certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians and provide free car seats to eligible families who reside within the Cheyenne and Arapaho service area. The technicians demonstrate the correct car seat installation procedures as well as providing injury prevention information.

The CHR Program continues to partner with the Oklahoma Blood Institute to provide Blood Drives in Concho for tribal employees. Flu clinics for employees and community members who utilize IHS services are also provided.
