Which funeral home to use after the death of a loved one is a decision left to the family. However, as the costs for a casket, vault, and flowers vary depending on the funeral home, the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes allocates a fixed amount for these services. The amount allocated for each enrolled tribal member’s funeral is as follows:
Adults (age 12 and over) Up to $7,000 (payable to the attending funeral home)
Children (infant to age 11) Up to $2,500 (payable to the attending funeral home)

Personal Arrangement Guide
As survivors may not be aware of your final wishes, a Personal Arrangement guide is available for you to express your desires. This can include a specific funeral home, the songs you’d like played, your pallbearers, and more. In addition, specifying your preferences can provide peace-of-mind for your family by relieving them of the burden of making final decisions on arrangements upon your passing. Contact the Burial Program office to get your copy.
