Founded in 2005, the R.E.Sp.E.C.T. Program stands for Recreation, Exercise, and Sports for the Elders and Children of our Tribes. By encouraging participation in recreation, exercise, sports, and other related activities, the program works to promote a healthy lifestyle to enhance the lives of all Cheyenne and Arapaho tribal members, as well as other American Indians residing in our service area.
The program’s youth activities include children’s sports leagues, traveling teams, camps and more. For the elders of our tribe, the R.E.Sp.E.C.T. Program hosts a quarterly Elder’s Day Out. In addition, assistance is available to any adult tribal member over the age of 18 who is out of high school so that he or she can participate in tournaments, leagues or gym memberships while staying fit and active.
All R.E.Sp.E.C.T. Program applicants must be enrolled members of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes and provide a copy of their CDIB. The Athletic Shoes Program allows for CDIB2s to be covered as well.
